One thing stored by default: your answer.

No analytics, no advertising pixels, nothing watching you read this. Below is a live reading of your own browser, so you can check that claim rather than take it on trust.

What is on your machine right now

IN SHORT

Rather than describe what we might store, here is a reading of your actual browser. Change your mind in the same place you check it.

  1. 1.1

The panel below reads your own browser when this page loads. Nothing in it is sent to us — the check happens on your device and stays there.

  2. 1.2

If a row shows PRESENT, that item exists in your browser now. NOT SET means we looked and found nothing. NOT RUNNING means the category is switched off, so nothing in it has loaded.

  3. 1.3

Clearing your browser storage removes your choice along with everything else, and the banner will ask again on your next visit.

03

The categories, and what we use them for

IN SHORT

Essential is the only one switched on, and it holds a single item: your answer to the banner. Analytics and marketing exist in the control but have nothing behind them yet.

  1. 3.1

Essential. Needed for the site to function and to respect the choice you made. No consent is required for these, and they cannot be switched off.

    • Your consent record, so the banner stops appearing.
    • Security and bot-protection measures applied by our hosting provider at the network level.
  2. 3.2

Analytics. Would count page views and referrers so we can see which pages are worth improving. We run none today. If we add any, they will load only after you switch this category on.

  3. 3.3

Marketing. Would measure whether paid advertising brought you here. We run none today, and we have never run advertising pixels on this site.

  4. 3.4

We do not share browsing data with advertising networks, and we do not sell it.

04

Third parties in the page

IN SHORT

Two, both structural: the company that hosts the site and the service that serves our typefaces. Neither sets a tracking cookie.

  1. 4.1

Hosting and content delivery. Our provider may apply network-level security measures, which can include a short-lived cookie used to tell humans from bots. It carries no profile and is not used for advertising.

  2. 4.2

Google Fonts. The site loads typefaces from Google's font service. Google receives your IP address and browser user-agent as part of that request. No cookie is set by it.

  3. 4.3

Embedded content. We do not embed third-party video, maps, chat widgets or social feeds on this site. If we add one, it will sit behind a click-to-load placeholder rather than running automatically.

05

How to change or refuse it

IN SHORT

Use the control on this page, or your browser settings. Refusing everything optional costs you nothing — the site works exactly the same.

  1. 5.1

Use the Change choices button above, or the Cookie settings link in the footer of every page. Your choice takes effect immediately.

  2. 5.2

Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it. There is no confirmation step, no dark pattern, and no reduced functionality as a result.

  3. 5.3

You can also block or delete storage in your browser settings. Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge each publish instructions, and most also offer a private-browsing mode that discards storage when you close the window.

  4. 5.4

Sending a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal changes nothing here, because we have no optional tracking running to disable.

06

Changes to this policy

IN SHORT

If we add anything that stores data on your device, this page changes first and the banner asks you again before it loads.

  1. 6.1

We will update this policy before introducing any new storage, not after.

  2. 6.2

Adding a category or a new third party raises the consent version, which clears existing choices and asks again. Your previous answer is never silently reused for a new purpose.

  3. 6.3

How we handle the personal data behind all of this is set out in the privacy policy.
